It’s just a few minutes’ stroll from Goa’s most vibrant beaches, happening bars and bustling night markets. There are two night markets in North Goa, the biggest at Anjuna about 15 mins away by taxi and another at the end of Baga Creek where our resort is located. On a Wednesday you can visit the famous Wednesday market which is huge. Karma Royal MonteRio has luxurious rooms, a great spa and a destination restaurant so there is actually no need to leave the resort at all – if all you want to do is relax.
Karma Royal MonteRio is close to the ever-popular beaches at Baga and Calangute – where the mood is lively and the party continues long into the night. Both beaches are crammed full of shacks which tend to stay open until the early hours throughout the season.
It’s not all noise and bustle, though: away from the main stretch, you’ll find quieter lanes, elegant eateries and less crowded beaches to explore. You can take a river cruise or a dolphin-spotting ocean boat trip for a more laid-back adventure, too.
Fly to Dabolim international airport, from which Karma Royal Monterio is a scenic 42km drive. The nearest railway station is 19km away at Thivim, or Margao station is 50km away. Airport and station transfers can easily be arranged on request.
